Many fans were shocked with the story twist featured in "American Horror Story: Roanoke" episode 6 that was released on Oct. 19. It appears that showrunner Ryan Murphy still has a few surprises up his sleeve such as the truth behind Lady Gaga's mysterious character and the return of a few familiar faces.

"American Horror Story" remains to be one of the intriguing TV series on FX that features a suspenseful storyline and a slew of interesting characters. Season 6 currently explores the horrors at Roanoke and contains a few story elements from earlier seasons.

Aired on Sept. 28, episode 3 included the special appearance of the "American Horror Story" alum Lady Gaga who appeared as a mysterious woodland witch. Details of the said character's origins were not disclosed. However, co-creator Murphy revealed that the musician's character has ties to the show's "Coven" season.

In an interview with TVLine, the showrunner confirmed the singer's "Coven" persona whom he stated is the Original Supreme or the head of a coven. Viewers will soon learn more about the said character's mysterious story in upcoming episodes. It appears that Murphy has plans to include Gaga's witchy character in a future season.

At this time, it is still unclear if the multi-awarded artist will portray the said character in the FX show's upcoming Season 7. Casting activities for the new season have yet to commence.

Apart from Gaga's potential participation in Season 7, Murphy also teased of Taissa Farmiga and Finn Wittrock's return to the FX series. Farmiga appeared as Zoe in the show's "Coven" season, while Wittrock portrayed Tristan in Season 5 dubbed "Hotel."

Viewers will be able to see the two celebrities towards the end of Season 6, according to the showrunner. Details of Farmiga and Wittrock's upcoming appearance has yet to be revealed.

However, Murphy recently shared in an interview with E!News that Wittrock will portray one of the craziest roles in the whole series. Described as a "f---ed up" character, the actor even had some apprehensions in playing the said role, according to Murphy.
