NVidia has finally managed to win the high-end graphics card war against AMD, thanks to the help of its new 10-series of cards. The company's modern Pascal architecture has given it a competitive edge over the latter in all aspects.

At every price point, AMD is now struggling to compete with NVidia in terms of performance, efficiency, and value. Recently, NVidia launched a new entrant in the low-budget category of graphics cards, leaving AMD with no room to breathe.

NVidia's mainstream group of cards now accommodates the current GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 TI at a starting price of $109 and $139, respectively. On the other hand, AMD has been left with no chance, with all its equivalent cards costing more than $200.

The $30 price difference between the two new NVidia cards is very significant in terms of performance. Details published at the GeForce website, and particularly the performance chart, show how the GTX 1050 Ti shoots ahead of GTX 1050.

Another post on Twitter by NVidia clearly shows how GTX 1050 and its counterpart perform in "Gears of War 4," "Overwatch," and "Grand Theft Auto V."  Compared to the older GTX 750 Ti, the new cards demonstrate an exceptional performance with faster memory and clock speed.

The 1050 Ti has 4GB of DDR5 memory while 1050 has half that. The latter also lags 128 cores behind the 1050 Ti, which has a CUDA core count of 768.

For comparison purposes, GeForce GTX 1060 cards come with 3GB and 6GB memories, faster clock and memory speeds, and more CUDA cores. That means as of now, GTX 1050 is the only fresh NVidia card that is not VR-ready.

However, there is still a possibility that the cards will match up with the new minimum specs of the Oculus. In the meantime, rumors are rife that AMD may cut the price of its Radeon RX 470 graphics card to $169, according to Hot Hardware.

As for NVidia, the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti have already raised the company's hopes after a good reception and ratings. The online community has shown its satisfaction of the company's combination of high performance and affordability. Only time will tell if AMD will fight back, but as for now, NVidia owns the graphics card market.
