Microsoft has been sending invitations to select press, analysts, and other guests for its Fall hardware showcase. Talks about the Microsoft Surface Phone and the high chances of the device showing up during the event are becoming more rampant.

Microsoft's launch event which will be live-streamed starting 10 am ET is slated for Oct. 26 in New York City. Tech lovers expect the American multinational technology company to reveal more about Windows 10 Redstone 2, Microsoft Surface device, OEM devices, and some gaming-related consoles.

This year's launch event is titled "The next chapter in the Windows story." Microsoft is expected to launch a Surface All-in-One type gadget likely with a Surface keyboard and mouse. However, it is reported that the Windows phone flagship may not be part of the event as the release of the device itself is already up in the air.

Mary Jo Foley, a trusted Microsoft analyst, revealed in a ZDNet article that her sources are not sure at the moment if the Microsoft Surface Phone will be launched during the upcoming Microsofts' Fall hardware event. She wrote, "My sources continue to say no new Microsoft phones of any kind are coming this year, either."

The expert noted that if Surface Phone does materialize, it could be considerably later. If the Surface Phone does not materialize by late 2017, the highly anticipated device may see an early 2018 roll out.

According to MS Power User, Microsoft initially planned to release a flagship for Fall 2016 with powerful internals and future looking technology. However, the project was scrapped completely because the tech giant had some issue with the components.

Microsft Surface Phone is expected to have a mark in the industry and may stand out from the rest by having a fingerprint scanner on the screen instead on the home button or the back of the device like many flagships do. The device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, a purported stylus, and RAM that can go up to 8 GB.
