Apple owners currently on iOS 10 will have no choice but to wait for patch updates moving forward with the company no longer signing iOS 10.0.1 and operating systems prior. The development is seen to cause problems to folks running older phones and hackers who try to come up with working iOS jailbreaks.
Users who experience compatibility and performance issues normally downgrade to previous iOS versions until Apple is able to provide a stable fix for the buggy operating system in use, Apple Insider reported. Now users who are already on the latest iOS 10 version will be left with no choice but to wait for the company to issue a fix or patch.
With regards to potential iOS jailbreaks, the last working crack was for iOS 9.3.5. Claims of an iOS 10 jailbreak did come out before but nothing officially rolled out. As things stand now, folks who have yet to update to the latest iOS 10 versions may as well hold off until the current Apple mobile operating system is proven bug-free.
As of late, iOS 10 has been churning out different bugs. That includes the call audio issues that were addressed by iOS 10.0.2 and the controversial encryption security which was expected to be resolved with iOS 10.0.3. It remains to be seen what bugs could still possibly crop up with Apple’s latest operating system.
Most of the issues bared are normally linked to the latest devices like the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The fate of older devices (both for the authentic and jailbroken) devices find themselves walking a thin line though the best advice is to hold off for obvious flexibility reasons, Mac Rumors reported.
Aside from iOS jailbreaking intentions, some old phones may find themselves slowing down with the new features that iOS 10 brings. With the option of downgrading taken out, it may be best to stick to iOS 9 despite bugs and issues that could persist.
