"The Walking Dead" fans are mourning the death of Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and Sgt. Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) in Season 7 episode 1 titled "The Day Will Come When You Won't Be." Directed by Greg Nicotero, the episode aired on AMC on Oct. 23, Sunday.
Yeun talked about Glenn's death during the premiere of "The Talking Dead," an aftershow of "The Walking Dead." The special outdoor event was held on Hollywood Forever Ceremony in Los Angeles, California.
"Glenn died in a very Glenn way," Yeun said. That's what my wife Jo said. He died in such a Glenn way, which is perfect, (and he was) still not thinking about himself."
For Yeun, it was appropriate that Glenn ended there. The South Korean-American added that it was appropriate that he put his dying words for Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) before Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) killed him.
"The Walking Dead" showrunner Scott M. Gimple attended "The Talking Dead" premiere with his fellow executive producer Robert Kirkman. AMC boss Charlie Collier was one of the invited guests, as well.
Aside from Yeun, Cudlitz, Cohan and Morgan attended the event, as well. They were joined by other "The Walking Dead" stars Norman Reedus, Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Ross Marquand, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt and Sonequa Martin-Green.
Yeun played Glenn from 2010 to 2016. After "The Walking Dead" Season 7, he will star in the action film "Mayhem," which was written by Matias Caruso and directed by Joe Lynch.
In "Mayhem," Yeun's character is named Derek Cho. Among his co-stars in the upcoming film are Dallas Roberts as The Reaper, Andre Eriksen as The Bull, Irfan Mensur as The Nine, Samara Weaving as Melanie Cross, Kerry Fox as Irene Smythe, Nina Senicar as Tessa, Lucy Chappell as Jenny, Scott Alexander Young as Frank, Nikola Kent as Oswald and Mark Frost as Ewan Niles.
