The Nintendo Switch official release date has been revealed by the Japanese company. The Nintendo Switch has been rumored for months though under a different name, Nintendo NX. The gaming device was revealed in a video via Nintendo's YouTube channel. The clip shows the console and boasts its most attractive feature to fans: being portable.

In the video clip, the first scene is of a man using the Nintendo Switch in his living room using his big screen TV and when he is about to go, he just attaches the detachable controllers to either side of the console and then lifts it up to reveal a tablet-like device.

The man is able to play with the consoles as one would play on Sony's PSP as its controllers are on both sides. The man is seen taking Nintendo Switch everywhere he goes, to the park, on a road trip, and even on a plane. He does not break a sweat since it is handheld and lightweight.

"In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also gives gamers a chance to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whoever they choose," reads the video's description. The description adds that the mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video gameplay styles.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch price is yet to be revealed but analysts are already predicting a low price for the new console. David Gibson, a Macquarie Securities analyst on is quoted by Bloomberg as estimating that the console will cost around $250. Gibson also revealed that a strong gaming lineup during the launch will help power the new gaming machine to 2.5 million units sold in its first month.

The sale would be followed by an additional 10.6 million units by March 2018, something that the Wii U did not achieve in the same time period. The Nintendo Switch price could prove the defining feature over whether the Nintendo Switch console is a big success or a flop.

According to Express, the Nintendo Switch price is said to be $299, although another bundle will be available for $399. Previously, Tesco advertised the Nintendo NX with a £350 price tag, however, this could have just been a placeholder.

The Nintendo Switch is set for a March 2017 release, along with the Xbox One Scorpio project expected at the end of the year. However, the price of the console is still unknown.
