Borussia Monchengladbach is on a downward spiral as of late, with the team going on a three-game winless spell and being winless in four of their last five matches. They are now settled at the 10th spot of the 18-team German top flight table.

Die Fohlen was blanked by defending champions and league leaders Bayern Munich, 0-2, at the Allianz Arena last Saturday to drop their second loss in three outings, as per The Guardian.

Head coach André Schubert's side were not able to respond with anything as Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal and Brazilian winger Douglas Costa netted one goal apiece for the Bavarians in the 16th and 31st minutes respectively.

The reigning champs pressured the visitors right from the kickoff and did not allow Die Borussen to make any significant attacks throughout the match.

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt routed cellar-dwelling team Hamburger SV, 3-0, on the road at the Imtech Arena last Friday to snap a three-game winless skid, USA Today reported.

An own goal from Hamburg midfielder Lewis Holtby opened the match's scoring in the 35th minute, giving the visitors a one-point advantage at the halftime interval.

Hamburg's problems compounded when defender Dennis Diekmeier was booked a second yellow card and sent off in the 57th minute, preventing them from mounting a comeback attempt.

Frankfurt scored two more goals against the 10-man Die Rothosen squad with Swiss forwards Shani Tarashaj and Haris Seferovic netting one goal each in the 60th and 69th minutes respectively to complete their three-goal haul.

The win put head coach Niko Kovač's team to the seventh place in the overall standings, tied on points with Borussia Dortmund but has a lesser goal difference.
