Augsburg is on a three-game winless slide as the team was only able to earn one win in their last six matches. With their ongoing slump, head coach Dirk Schuster's side has dropped to the 12th spot in the overall standings with only eight points, tied with SV Darmstadt 98 but has a higher goal difference.

Fuggerstädter is coming off a sorry 1-2 loss to newly-promoted club SC Freiburg on the road at the MAGE Solar-Stadion last Saturday, as per the league's official website.

The game was goalless for most of the time until Freiburg midfielder Maximilian Philipp broke the deadlock in the 66th minute with a close-range right-footer off an assist by teammate Vincenzo Grifo.

Germany international hero Nils Petersen then doubled the lead for the hosts in the 78th with a mid-range shot with Philipp providing the assist.

Augsburg was able to cut the lead to one point after Turkish midfielder Halil Altintop directed Dong-Won Ji's header pass to Freiburg's goal in the 84th, but it was the closest the visitors could come as time ran out.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich romped Borussia Monchengladbach, 2-0, at the Allianz Arena also last Saturday to remain undefeated after eight rounds of competitions this season, The Guardian reported.

Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal scored the opening goal early in the 16th minute with a header from the center of the box off an assist by Brazilian defender Rafinha.

Rafinha's countryman Douglas Costa then doubled the lead in the 31st as he directed David Alaba's cross past the outstretched arms of Monchengladbach keeper Yann Sommer.

The Bavarians are still on top of the current German top flight table and is one of three teams still unbeaten this season.
