Bethesda's Vice President Peter Hines has disclosed that "The Elder Scrolls" is not in development and neither is it coming soon. Instead, the game is slated to come out as soon as the developer has finished working on two other games.

Hines released this information on Twitter in response to some fans, who were concerned about the sequel. One of them had hinted that "The Elder Scrolls 6" would be ready in the "Pre-alpha" stage to which he disagreed.

Hine's reason to why "The Elder Scrolls 6" is not yet in development is that the studio is working on other titles, which are slated for an earlier release, just before the eagerly awaited game comes out. Notably, this not the first time that Bethesda is enlightening fans on the same.

Speaking at GamesCom earlier this year, Hines said that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is not set for a 2017 announcement at the next GamesCom and neither will it come out in 2018's installment of the same event. He also mentioned the idea of the studio working on the two prioritized games before the release of "TES6."

According to Gaming Bolt, the new announcement could mean that the follow-up to "Skyrim" will not come out as soon as expected. This owes to how long the developer is known to take in developing its games.

Majority of fans had hoped that, with "Fallout 4" already done with, Bethesda would move on to working on "The Elder Scrolls." But that has turned out not the case. According to Push Square, it is surprising that the developer is not pushing on with the two titles that made its Studio a success - "The Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout."

At the same time, many gamers believe that Bethesda is moving on to trying new things. Recently, studio director Todd howard disclosed that the developer was considering new intellectual properties. With this in mind, there is a chance that one of these projects will come out before the sixth sequel of "The Elder Scrolls."

As of now, fans can only hope to see next "The Elder Scrolls" sequel after a very long time. Here is a video of "The Elder Scrolls" history:
