Las Palmas used to be in the top five of the Spanish top flight table during the first few weeks of competitions after they won three of their first four games. However, the team went on a five-game winless slide since then, dropping them to their current ninth position in the overall standings.

In their most recent game, Los Amarillos lost a heartbreaking 1-2 game to contending team Villarreal on the road at the El Madrigal Stadium last Sunday, via Sofa Score.

Head coach Quique Setién's side began the scoring in the 31st minute with a brilliant goal from Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng coming from a cross by teammate Tana.

However, it proved to be the only goal of the visitors in the match as El Submarino Amarillo netted the next two to pull off the win.

The game was tied at 1-1 when Congolese forward Cedric Bakambu buried the winning goal in injury time to hand Las Palmas another their third loss this season.

Meanwhile, Celta Vigo has been unbeaten in five of their last six matches, including a three-game winning streak, to climb to the eighth place in the league table after spending the first few weeks in the bottom half of the standings.

Os Célticos opened the season with a three-game losing streak and found themselves in the bottom three relegation area before their ongoing rise to the standings.

Head coach Eduardo Berizzo's squad crushed Deportivo La Coruna, 4-1, in their most recent game held at the Balaídos Stadium last Sunday, BBC Sport reported.

Spanish striker Iago Aspas scored a brace in the 60th and 83rd minutes to lead the hosts in the match with team captain Hugo Mallo and Fabian Orellana netting one each in the 32nd and 78th minutes respectively to complete the four-goal haul.

Deportivo defender Raul Albentosa scored a consolation goal in the 37th minute for the visitors.
