There are two things that mom-of-14 kids Nadya Suleman regrets in life. One is posing nude and the other is being known as “Octomom.”
Suleman now wants to be known as Natalie. The 41-year-old admitted to “The Doctors” host Dr. Travis Stock, in an interview for airing on Tuesday, that while she always wanted to have a big family, she never set out to become an “octomom,” People reported.
She posed nude for Britain’s Closer magazine and was paid $8,000. Suleman said that instead of getting more public assistance to feed her big brood, which she felt ashamed of, she agreed to the nude photo shoot. “I have to do what I have to do to take care of my family, and I’m not ashamed. I’m not ashamed at all … I’ve never sacrificed my morals and values,” Suleman told TV host Anderson Cooper in March.
Although she tried to convince herself what she was doing was right, Suleman admitted she hated the “Octomom” public persona. She tried hard to escape from it so she left “Octomom,” the TV show, and returned to being a counselor which led to a healthy and happy life with her kids.
“The problem is it’s followed us, because people never knew what I did. They never knew the true story,” Suleman continued. She said she has owned and took responsibility for her poor choices before but is glad that despite those wrong choices, her children ended turning out to be okay.
Her octoplets – Noah, Maliyah, Isaiah, Nariyah, Jeremiah, Josiah, Jonah and Makai – whom she conceived through IVF just turned seven. In an Instagram post, Suleman greeted the eight with the message: “You taught me more about gratitude, forgiveness, patience, and unconditional love than I could have hoped to learn in a lifetime. You are all the strongest, most loving, compassionate, and selfless human beings I have ever known. God blessed me plentifully by placing you all in my life, my loves, my angels. I love you so so so much,” Daily Mail reported.
