As the popularity of TV series such as “Game of Thrones,” “Westworld” and “Jane The Virgin” grows, producers of these shows inject more sex scenes to further boost ratings. For instance, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) finally lost her virginity to husband Michael (Brett Drier) in the latest episode of “Jane The Virgin.”
While “Outlander” season 2 was a little light on the sex, actress Caitriona Balfe (Claire) admitted to Vanity Fair that fans as well as she and actor Sam Heughan (Jamie) were also missing the sex. She shared that fans tweet her asking, “Where’s the Sex?”
However, it would be different in season 3. Balfe promised, “There will be some other sex going on. I think to really let the reunion and everything that’s going to happen once Jamie and Claire see each other, I think it’s really special.”
But fans would have to wait a little bit more, although the actress assured followers of “Outlander” that in season 3, sex would not be as scarce as season 2, Jezebel reported.
Season 2’s emotional finale was four months ago when fans temporarily said goodbye to their characters Claire and Jamie Fraser. Season 3 premieres in April 2017, bringing back the time-traveling, star-crossed couple to Starz, according to Vanity Fair.
“Outlander” is based on the novels by author Diana Gabaldon who is coming out with a new “Outlander” novel titled “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.” Gabaldon said the “Outlander” novels would likely finish with book 10.
The TV series, which aired in 2014, focuses on Claire, a 20th-century British nurse who time travels to 18th-century Scotland where she finds adventure and romance with Jamie Fraser, a dashing Highland warrior.
