"The Flash" Season 3 cast member Tom Cavanagh recently opened up about his new character, Harrison Wells, from Earth-19.

In the previous episode, the funnier counterpart of Harrison arrived in Earth-1 where he came face-to-face with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Cisco (Carlos Valdes), Caitlyn (Danielle Panabaker), Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Everyone from that world was surprised to see a funnier and friendlier Harrison.

While speaking with Den of Geek, Cavanagh shared how he came up with the idea for a different Harrison Wells from Earth-19. "In the first season, he seems to be good, but he's bad. In the second season, he seems bad but he's good. In this season, well, I wonder what he is? A bit of a con man... But I didn't want to repeat myself from last year so what I thought I would try this year is a guy who fills it up with comedy, if you will," he said.

Meanwhile, even though the new Harrison is livelier than the ones from Earths 1 and 2, Cavanagh said that he wants him to be able to still tell the story. "You don't want to upset the cart or pull the carpet out from what we're trying to do. You want to actually contribute and have this element - and in this instance it's a comedic element," he said.

In other news, Valdes also talked about the fate of Harrison aka H.R. Wells in the upcoming episodes. In the previous installment, he admitted to the team that he lied to them about being a scientist. "You can expect a lot of H.R.'s business and backstory to be rooted in some of this writing of his and specifically the narrative that he's tackling will reveal itself over the upcoming episodes. I mean, he's already wearing the face of a man that's burned us. He's sort of got chips stacked against him."

"The Flash" Season 3 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
