The people have spoken and voted Lee Joon-Gi as the most popular television actor. The 34-year-old Hallyu star recently portrayed 4th Prince Wang So in SBS' "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo."
On Nov. 8, Tuesday, it was revealed that Lee ranked the number 1 spot in most Buzzworthy TV appearances, according to data compiled by Good Data Corporation, as cited by Soompi. The analytics company collected and analyzed popularity polls and surveys to compile a list of the most popular stars to make an appearance on TV.
"Lee Joon-gi is getting very favorable reviews from a number of different public opinion polls," a representative from Lee's agency Namoo Actors said in a statement obtained by The Kpop Herald. "It is all due to the public's love for him. Lee is very touched by the support he is getting."
To thank his fans for their loyalty and support, Lee will hold a meet-and-greet event across Asia. He is poised to commence the first leg of his Asian tour in Seoul, South Korea on Dec. 03 with confirmed stops in Japan and Taiwan, respectively.
Apart from the Asian tour fan meeting, Lee will also be making his Hollywood debut in "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter." He took the role of Umbrella Corporation's Commander Lee, who holds a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Lee's screen time will be around five to ten minutes long and is expected to go head-to-head against Alice (Milla Jovovich). In February, he detailed how he landed a special role in the sci-fi film, stating director Paul W. S. Anderson muted a video footage of him acting and examined his faces and emotions before deciding to hire him.
"It's just a special appearance," Lee stressed. "I think of it as a good experience. I have been acting for more than 10 years now, but there's still a lot I want to show everyone. I haven't met my true character yet. I hope to in the future."
