"Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" ended up with impressive ratings of 12.2 percent on Nov. 1, Tuesday. Following its successful run, Lee Joon-Gi openly talked about his character in the SBS drama.

In the 20-episode historical drama, Lee portrayed the unapproachable and reserved 4th Prince, Wang So, who is known for his perceptive thinking and cruelty. In order to protect the people around him and earn his mother's respect, Wang So decided to seek ultimate power.

"I've gained another unforgettable character," said Lee during a sit-down interview with Naver TV Cast, according to local newsoutlet Imaeil, as cited by Soompi. "While I was acting as Wang So, I had a lot of worries and concerns about making sure that Wang So was different from my previous sageuk roles."

Lee then stated how hard it was to believe that the SBS historical drama finally came to an end. He added, "While it was really hard, I want to say 'Thank you' to the character. I hope he's happier in his next life, and that he stays happy with Hae Soo (IU) for a long, long time."

It came after the Hallyu star took to Instagram to thank fans at home and abroad for supporting the historical drama. He also shared an image of the show's cast during their wrap-up party.

Though Lee is glad he met the entire cast and staff of the SBS historical drama, the Hallyu star is now ready to take a step forward. He will star next in "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," an upcoming sci-fi action film starring Milla Jovovich.

In "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," he will play Umbrella Corporation's Commander Lee, who holds a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo, The Korea Times reported. His screen time will reportedly be around five to ten minutes long and is expected to clash against Alice (Jovovich).
