Apple Inc. is currently investigating what happened to the smart phone and caused it to explode while inside a Johnson's pocket, according to The Register.

Johnson explained that all he heard was a pop then he felt it burning his leg.  It was an instant burn and did not even warmed up first and the only way to get it out was to rip his pants off him.

His brother brought him to the hospital, Johnson was sent to Staten Island University Hospital burns unit. He stayed for 10 days and was discharged but still requires daily nursing treatment.

Johnson said that he has no plans of buying another smart phone at this time but Mike Della, his legal counsel, disclosed that since Apple has not commented or coordinated with regard to the case, he and his partners are considering the iPhone as a dangerous device, Breaking News Today reported.

"Now, every single time I have my iPhone, instead of putting it in my pocket, I put it in the seat next to me because of this case," Della explained. "My wife does the same thing, and so does everyone else at the [law] firm. It's a little scary. You shouldn't have to worry about your phone exploding."

Della has his iPhone 5C which was purchased the previous year. It has an iOS 8 but no add-ons. He plans to sue Cook & Co.

He wants to find out how did it explode and to prevent it from happening to others. His whole goal is to get answers, is the product safe to use?
