After CBS has convinced more than 1 million subscribers to pay $6 a month for CBS All Access, the broadcast network would offer to them content which could not be broadcast on TV live. Jim Lanzone, CBS Interactive CEO, identified two big upcoming shows on the digital platform.

These are “The Good Wife” spinoff and “Star Trek” reboot which he hinted would have cursing and naked aliens. Lanzone said that Sci-fi is a genre that traditionally does not do well on broadcast. But he said it is not impossible in the future, if someone figures out how to, Recode reported.

The two shows would initially debut on broadcast, but afterward, the rest of the series would move online. Since digital content is not covered by FCC broadcast regulations – such as nudity and cursing – CBS would have the freedom to be bolder in the content of its CBS All Access platform shows.

Lanzone said on the latest episode of “Recode Media with Peter Kafka” that theoretically, naked aliens and humans as well as cursing could be seen in future online content “Whatever future swearing, 300 years in the future, would be.”

Last week, CBS CEO Les Moonves said at the Thursday earnings call that the company would start selling the CBS All Access and Showtime OTT as a bundle. However, CBS does not yet have a price for the bundled offer. Separately, CBS All Access costs $6 a month, while Showtime OTT costs $11 a month, according to FierceCable.

Besides “Star Trek,” Moonves disclosed that as the season moves toward spring, “Twin” Peaks” and the rebooted version of the popular Sci-fi series would come out on the two competing platforms. He hinted that CBS has a lot of other exciting marketing plans for CBS All Access and Showtime OTT.
