"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, episode 8 will see Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) remembering some not-so-good thoughts from her past.
In "The Room Where it Happens," Meredith will be in charge of a crucial surgery that will trigger some bad memories from the time of her husband, Derek's (Patrick Dempsey), death. In the teaser released by ABC for the episode, Meredith could be seen arguing with Dr. Webber (James Pickens Jr.) and Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) on who should be in charge of the patient.
There's been an ongoing power struggle at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital especially after Dr. Webber started to feel that he is being replaced. Considering his age, this is very possible. However, the truth is that Dr. Bailey (Chandra Wilson) still hasn't made the final decision.
In the sneak peek, Dr. Webber encourages his fellow residents to play a game that could help them gather more information about the patient. The man could either be the person responsible for the car crash or the victim. "Edwards, tell me about the patient," Dr. Webber asked Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton). "He came into the ER unconscious..." she replied before Dr. Webber cut her off.
"No, no... what's his name?" Dr. Webber asked. "Well, he doesn't have an ID so we called him John Doe," Stephanie replied. "His car sped up, smashed another car..." Owen explained. "So, do we have the driver or do we have the victim? You don't know? So we don't know if he was the good guy or the bad guy. What do we need to know in order to do our jobs to not simply be mechanics?" Dr. Webber asked.
His statement led some of the doctors to feel a bit upset especially Owen. "We're gonna play a game," Dr. Webber said. Owen questioned why playing a game was necessary. "Here's how we start. This patient is no longer John Doe," he said. "Who is he then?" Stephanie asked. "We make him anyone we want," Dr. Webber replied. Immediately after, Owen stared at Meredith who will most likely name drop her late husband's name.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13, episode 8 will air on ABC on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET.
