Just like NVIDIA, AMD is also on the works with its upcoming Radeon RX 490. The said Graphics Processing Unit is reportedly engineered with Polaris 10 that can support 4K gaming which the tech enthusiasts will definitely like.

Headlines and Global News had learned that the AMD Radeon RX 490 will feature second-generation high bandwidth memory that will have RAM of 8,196 MB storage capacity. It is also expected to sport a 1,200 MHz base clock and a 350 MHz memory clock. For reference, the RX device is powered by a processing power of more than 1.5TFLOPs which will create the ability to accelerate up to 60 frames per second at 1080p in popular titles like "DOTA 2" and "LOL."

Additionally, the number '4' refers to the fourth generation GCN architecture. This appears to specify that the Radeon RX 480 may still be Polaris-based and the '9' refers to the ninth row of gaming. It also shows that the GPU targets a memory bus of more than 256 bits focused on 4K gaming. With the upcoming RX 490, it is expected to deliver powerful features for a decent experience for the gamers at the highest possible resolution.

The AMD Radeon RX 490 is believed to sport a TDP of 150W and the Polaris 10 chip will run on its own rate at 110W TDP. If this specification will be proven to be true then it will be more powerful than both the GeForce GTX 1080 and Titan X.

Moreover, Science World Report stated that the AMD Radeon RX 490 might also sport Vega 10 which is scheduled to be released in the last days of December 2016. However, there were reports suggesting that AMD plans on using it for the AMD Radeon RX 500 series of units instead of the RX 400 series. Rumors also claim that AMD Radeon RX 490 might get either a November release date or an early 2017 launch.

AMD hasn't confirming any information as of the moment, but then its patrons are expecting that concrete details about the AMD Radeon RX 490 will be unveiled soon.
