Samsung has officially begun the Android 7.0 Nougat beta program for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Fresh details suggest Android 7.1's arrival is nearing for S7 and S7 Edge. Moreover, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users are expected to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update soon.

Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat beta for owners of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Currently, it is only available in the U.S., the U.K., and through the Galaxy Beta Program app available on Play Store. The beta update is also imminent for users in China.

The new update brings the Grace UX UI that was available on the Galaxy Note 7 along with the Always-On display feature. It also includes a new SamsungOne font, Phone Arena reported.

Android 7.1 Nougat Release Imminent for Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge?

It seems that owner of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in South Korea are receiving Android 7.1 Nougat beta update. It may be an indication that after the end of beta program, Samsung may roll out Android 7.1 Nougat update for users of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in the above-mentioned regions.

The Android 7.1 Nougat will be rolled out by Google to its Nexus devices in December. Hence, it is likely that Android 7.1 Nougat upgrade would be coming to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge users by early 2017.

Android 7.0 Nougat in Development for Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge

According to Sam Mobile, Samsung has started development of Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. However, the official release of the update is expected to begin in early 2017.

Android 7.0, 7.1 Nougat Update for Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+

Previous reports have revealed that Android 7.0 Nougat beta roll out is also available for owners of Galaxy Note 5 in South Korea and China. Hence, the Galaxy Note 5 users are expected to receive the stable version of the software by the end of this year.

Other reports indicate that Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 will all be receiving Android 7.1 Nougat directly by skipping 7.0 version in the second quarter of 2017.
