Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Marc Anthony has separated from his wife of two years, Shannon De Lima. The news came after Lopez and Anthony shared a fervent kiss while onstage at the Latin Grammys on Nov.17, Thursday.
Since the day they shared a passionate kiss at the Latin Grammys, several speculations have been thrown at Lopez and Anthony. The rumors got even stronger when news came out that Anthony separated with De Lima. Some speculated that the "Shades of Blue" actress had caused the split of the "Vivir Mi Mida" singer and his wife.
Following the news of Anthony and De Lima's separation, Lopez's manager Benny Medina confirmed to TMZ that the latter and the former are "absolutely, categorically, 100% not back together." Lopez has since ignored rumors linking her with her former husband.
Despite Lopez's manager giving a statement, people could not just stop thinking that there is nothing in between Lopez and Anthony, particularly now that he separated with De Lima. Lopez has been collaborating with her ex-partner for an all-Spanish album, where he serves as the executive producer.
"I am so excited and really looking forward to this new musical journey," Billboard quoted Lopez as saying in a statement. "To celebrate my Latin roots with Marc Anthony and the Sony/Magnus family."
It was not the first all-Spanish project for Lopez and Anthony. Back in 2007 when they were still together, the two collaborated for the project Como Ama Una Mujer.
Lopez and Anthony wed in 2004, separated in 2011, and divorced in 2014. The "On the Floor" hitmaker is presently single following her breakup with her on-and-off beau Casper Smart in August.
Anthony met De Lima a few months after splitting with Lopez in 2011. They tied the knot in 2014. It was Anthony's fourth separation after he called it quits with Jennifer, Maria Von Ritchie Lopez and Dayanara Torres.
Many have noticed that Anthony was not wearing his wedding ring at the awarding ceremony during the Latin Grammy Awards. De Lima was also absent in the prestigious awarding night.
Since the controversial kiss of Lopez and Anthony that has gone viral, the Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year poked fun at the idea by starting the hashtag #elbesoeffect on the social media. He has since posted several photos of himself kissing others, including men.
