Shawn Mendes, who is reportedly being rumored as Chloe Grace Moretz's new man, inspired singer-actress Hailee Steinfeld to purse her singing career. In a recent interview, Steinfeld revealed that Mendes encouraged her to keep singing.

"I remember meeting him three years ago when I was just dipping my toes into the whole music thing and he inspired me to stay on," Steinfeld tells Fashion magazine. He adds that the 18-year-old singer is so kind, and that she knew even then that he was going to be a big star.

In the meantime, Mendes is being linked to actress Chloe Grace Moretz. It all started when Mendes shared his photoshoot with L'Uomo Vogue in October this year which caught the attention of Moretz. According to Teen Vogue, the "Stiches" singer shared a photo of him showing off his abs, to which the latter responded with a gif of her giggling.

According to a source, Mendes has had a crush on Moretz for the longest time and that she likes her "sense of humor and outspoken nature." It was also said that while they spent some time together at the 2015 American Music Awards, nothing romantic developed between the two as they were dating other people at the time.

Moretz dated Beckham in summer this year. The actress publicly confirmed her relationship with David Beckham's son in an interview with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live."

Gushing about her then-boyfriend, Moretz described Beckham as a "very good guy" and "good person" whom she enjoyed hanging out with.

"One of the reasons why dating him is great is that we both get what it means to have our lives twisted and torn apart and faked," she previously told Glamour UK.

On the other hand, Mendes was previously linked to Camila Cabello, with whom he did a duet titled "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Mendes, however, clarified that he and Cabello were never an item and that they are just good friends.
