Burnley is currently in the 12th spot of the English top flight table after having three losses, one draw, and two wins in their last six matches. The team is tied on points with fellow middling side Southampton but has a lesser goal differential than the Saints.

The Clarets are coming off a humiliating 0-4 demolition in the hands of streaking squad West Bromwich Albion on the road at the Hawthorns on Monday, as per BBC Sport.

West Brom scored three goals in the first half, courtesy of Matt Phillips, James Morrison, and Darren Fletcher in the fourth, 16th, and 37th minutes, to dishearten Burnley and hand head coach Sean Dyche's squad their fourth winless performance in six games.

Venezuelan forward Salomon Rondon netted the hosts' fourth goal in the 64th minute to seal the game for the Baggies.

Meanwhile, Manchester City bounced back from their disappointing 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough in the previous round with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on the road at the Selhurst Park last Saturday, ESPN reported.

Yaya Touré scored a brace for head coach Pep Guardiola's side in his first game back in the starting XI for City.

Touré opened the scoring in the 39th minute with a give-and-go play with forward Nolito inside the penalty area.

Palace managed to level the count in the 66th with a goal from forward Connor Wickham, but Touré broke the deadlock again in the 83rd with a close-range shot to give the win to his side.

It was the second win in three matches for City, who are currently at third place in the league table, as the team is on a five-game unbeaten run.
