Hello Games has officially announced a new "No Man's Sky" Foundation Update after the developers have gone quiet for several months, causing more doubt from those who bought the game.

"No Man's Sky" was one of the anticipated games of 2016 but it turned out to be a huge disappointment for many gamers who actually bought the game. Most of the features mentioned in the interviews did not appear at launch.

Both casual users and professional reviewers have given the game disappointing grades. Reputable game review score source Metacritic even gave "No Man's Sky" a score of just 61 on PC and 71 on the PlayStation 4, Forbes has learned.

The lead developer for "No Man's Sky," Sean Murray, has promised many features during the interviews with him. Even the Advertising Standards Authority in the United Kingdom recently announced that they are conducting an investigation on Hello Games regarding the falsely-advertised "No Man's Sky" title.

Hello Games said in their official development update post that their silence meant that they were "listening and focusing" on making the game better. Unfortunately, they have not yet announced whether there will be new features in the game as the patch notes have not yet been released.

There is also no word on whether they will actually focus on bringing what features Murray has promised during the game's development. In addition, the developers also stated that the Foundation Update will not be their largest one.

Hello Games said in their post: "Positive or negative feedback, you have been heard and that will truly help to make this a better game for everyone. This update will be the first small step in a longer journey. We hope you can join us."

No clues were given as to what the Foundation Update holds. It could contain the promised features such as the planetary physics, asteroid landings, rivers, in-atmosphere battles and more.

"No Man's Sky" players will have to wait for the actual Foundation Update to be released. No date has been given but Hello Games did say that it will be released soon.
