Tragedy struck the family of former NBA star Marcus Camby when his autistic nephew was found dead in a lake inside his property. Camby had a good career in the NBA before retiring in 2013 wherein he last played with the New York Knicks.

Camby, who is currently residing in Pearland, Texas, held a Thanksgiving Day dinner wherein the family of Marcus McGhee was invited. McGhee is the autistic 9-year-old boy that went missing on the same day.

According to Chron.com, the boy was with other children during the family gathering but he went missing around 4:15 p.m. The family went on to search the entire mansion of Camby, as well as his mother's home that is inside the property.

A community-wide search was launched by the police wherein the entire neighborhood tried locating McGhee. The boy with autism was found dead around 7:00 am the next day on the lake behind Camby's home.

The Pearland Police Department have concluded that there was no foul play during the incident. They have ended the search and announced in a statement that Camby's family needs prayers.

"Pearland Police Department regrets to inform the community that Marcus McGhee has been found. Today's search will be called off. We thank all of you for your efforts. The family is now in need of our prayers. Additional details will be released later," the department said, via CBS News.

Camby had an 18-year career in the NBA after getting selected second overall by the Toronto Raptors in the 1996 Draft. He went on to play two seasons with the Raptors before getting traded to the New York Knicks in 1998.

The 42-year-old stayed in New York for four seasons until his trade to the Denver Nuggets in 2002. He spent six years in Denver and he had the most productive years of his career. He was also named the 2007 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

"The Cambyman" went on to play for the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Houston Rockets before ending his career with the Knicks in 2013. He is currently 12th on the NBA's all-time career blocks list.
