Before "Poldark" Season 2 made its debut, fans have been warned of a possible rekindling between Ross and his former lover Elizabeth. Moving forward to "Poldark" Season 3, new photos suggest that Elizabeth may be pregnant and that the father is rumored to be none other than Ross himself.
In the "Poldark" Season 2 finale, Ross and Elizabeth's arc reach a dramatic climax in a passionate sexual encounter. Actor Aidan Turner describes the act as "consensual, and it just seems right."
Ross' wife, Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson), did find out about his cheating, but did not punish him for it. However, Demelza grew to despise Elizabeth even more and there is even more tension between the two ladies, especially since Ross and Elizabeth's affair now leaves the possibility of bearing a child.
Indeed so, new photos of Elizabeth show the character sporting a baby bump. Actress Heida Reed teased that that Elizabeth and Ross' actions in Season 2 would lead to consequences that will come into play in "Poldark" Season 3.
When asked if Elizabeth's romantic entanglements with Ross will continue, Reed answered in the affirmative. "Yes, absolutely. That triangle only grows, there are people that join us," Express UK quoted Reed as saying. "That triangle continues. Let's just say there are some actions and consequences."
Come the third season, fans will see Elizabeth married to George Warleggan (Jack Farthing), who is Ross' biggest rival. The big mystery, however, is whether Elizabeth's baby belongs to George or to Ross. Even if the child is not Ross, his relationship with Demelza is nevertheless in a state of crisis.
Meanwhile, new characters will appear in "Poldark" Season 3. Elizabeth's cousin, Morwenna, will be played by Ellsie Chappell. According to The Daily Mail, actor Josh Whitehouse will be playing Hugh Armitage.
