Android Nougat 7.1 was released in the UK on Dec. 5, and the features which bring it closer to a computer have already become quite popular. The app shortcuts and image keyboard support are expected to be two features which will be loved by the tech savvy generation.

Users can now directly come to the key actions within the app. They can long-press the app's launcher icon to reveal the app's shortcuts and then can tap on the shortcut and perform the required action. Even before launching the app, the user can experience the basic functionalities of the app and decide whether to launch it or not.

Input method editors or IMEs had the functionality of the soft keyboard, but the users could send only the unicode emojis to apps. Now they can send emojis, stickers, and other kinds of rich content via one app to the other.

Going by the official site, the developer version of Android Nougat was launched in August and many features which included the multi-screen features for the ease of navigation were appreciated by gadget enthusiasts.

Android Nougat 7.1 will come to Google's own products Pixel and Nexus devices first and other competitors then can customize the OS as per their requirements and release it for their respective smartphones. Even though Google has decided to keep this OS free for download, the gadget specialists have predicted that the market penetration will increase with the launch of this new OS.

Instant chat support, automatic data uploading to the cloud, profile guided just in time (JIT) compiler, professional emojis and many other features are going to be extremely popular amongst the gadget lovers, PC advisor reported.

The OS will be supportive to animated images and it will change the color when long-pressed. Switching between apps will be a lot easier in this OS. There will be split-screen and picture in picture features which will give the users the feel of a PC screen.
