The return of Bill Goldberg was a success as the ratings for Raw went up and his win against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series generated a lot of buzz. He is set to compete again in the Royal Rumble Match next year but it seems like John Cena is also on his radar.

The 49-year-old WCW and WWE legend made a triumphant return at Survivor Series. He defeated Lesnar in a squash match and he announced that he will enter the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. The Beast is also in the Rumble that will set up their WrestleMania 33 encounter.

It is expected that Lesnar is going to win at WrestleMania to end the rivalry and Goldberg will finally retire. However, the former WCW and WWE world champion might not be finished as he remembers Cena's comments last month.

In an interview with Hollywood Life before Survivor Series last month, Cena was asked on who will win between Lesnar and Goldberg. The 15-time WWE champ chose The Beast but he was dead wrong on that one.

"Who do I got? Brock Lesnar! People can see that individual on television and see him live. I have been in there with him a bunch and I have been in there with him for 15 years. He hasn't aged a second," Cena said.

"He is still gifted, he is still athletic and he is still destructive. Brock Lesnar against anybody I would... I don't know who is going to beat Brock," he added.

A fan reminded Goldberg of Cena's comments on Twitter and he noted that he would love to see that match. The former NFL player answered by teasing a possible match with Cena and saying that he "never forget" those kinds of things.

It should be noted that these are just rumors at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. The WWE would love to book Goldberg vs. Cena but they worried about the status of the latter for next year.

According to Cageside Seats, there is tension between Cena and WWE at the moment. The company is also worried about the upcoming outside projects of Cena that will affect his scheduled going forward. There is fear backstage that he might continue doing films and become a part-timer or even leave the WWE.
