Apple has been pushing out beta versions of iOS 10.2 on a regular basis and this weekend beta number 7 arrived for developers and for testers who have signed up for the public testing program.

With Apple releasing iOS 10.2 betas almost every week to developers and the general public, it appears that the company is close to releasing iOS 10.2 to the public. However, as of now it appears that the company is busy fixing the bugs in iOS 10.2 and on Dec. 7, Wednesday it released beta 7.

When beta 7 rolled out, it was offered for both developers and those who had signed up for the Apple testing program which is open to general public. As soon as it was spotted it was drew a lot of attention as it was the second beta for iOS 10.2 which released this week, 9to5Mac reported. Also the beta appeared to have been released only for iPhones, iPod Touch and iPads while other devices were overlooked.

As for the changes that were noticed in the beta releases so far, they include new wallpapers for the iPhone 7 and its bigger sibling the iPhone 7 Plus. In addition to this window dressing, there is a new widget that is part of the Videos app, several new Unicode 9 emoji and changes to Preserve Camera setting. Emoji for various professions have been modified, and now, there are male and female versions of firefighters, lawyers etc. According to MacRumors, others have even become more realistic.

With beta builds for iOS 10.2 continuing to roll out it is clear the Apple has not finished tweaking the upcoming update. In the meantime developers and testers are hoping that most of the bugs that have been reported so far will be fixed before the update rolls out in its final form.

In spite of Apple's aggressive beta rollout for iOS 10.2 it appears that the company is nowhere near releasing the final version to mobile devices. In fact, now it is thought that the release date for iOS 10.2 is sometime next week.

Apple dubbed iOS 10 as its biggest update when it released, and it appears that the company wants to ensure that iOS 10.2 delivers significant improvements to user experience.
