Korean drama Goblin has been making waves in Hallyu news as the new show skyrocketed the ratings charts beating the overly hyped "The Legend Of The Blue Sea". "Goblin" actor Gong Yoo also surpassed Lee Min Ho in popularity in local and international scenes.

It seemed that Gong Yoo is giving Hallyu actor Lee Min Ho a run for his money as the former's drama has taken over the latter's in terms of ratings. For the last three weeks, Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun's drama held the top spot, but was immediately replaced by "Goblin" with its pilot episode showing the star power of the actor.

Not only that "Goblin" has surpassed "The Legend Of The Blue Sea," it shockingly doubled its rating score. This means that it also overtook Park Bo Gum's "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds" and "Reply 1988" and Song Joong Ki's "Descendants Of The Sun".

Gong Yoo's popularity is thanks to his hit movie "Train To Busan". The movie has garnered acclaim from various countries worldwide and bagged a Hollywood remake. His role of being the hero in the film catapulted his celebrity status.

Lee Min Ho's popularity probably waned due to the engagement and wedding rumors that circulated online. Lee Min Ho and Suzy Bae are caught up in wedding rumors as the media read more than what the actor actually said when he expressed his desire to marry his girlfriend in an interview. Lee Min Ho and Suzy Bae is one of South Korea's power couples after they admitted that they were dating in March 2015. The two developed romantic feelings for each other when they were doing separate projects in London.

Meanwhile, reports claimed that Lee Min Ho will star the "Train To Busan 2". However, there is no official word yet from the writer, producer, and director of the upcoming film.
