"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is set to delight both old and new fans of Capcom's survival horror gaming franchise. Despite criticisms about the shift from the game's classic third-person camera to a first-person in-game perspective, the move was labeled as a smart decision on Capcom's part, according to an early game review posted on Polygon.

Exploring the eerie locations in "Resident Evil 7," as well as trying to escape some of the game's antagonists and other fearsome creatures will challenge avid fans of the gaming franchise. Several in-game scenarios where the ambient sounds such as creaking floorboards, the sound of the wind howling and other natural noises only serve to increase the game's suspense level.

Moreover, players looking for a more action-oriented game will also find gameplay elements in "Resident Evil 7" that will prove to be very challenging. Similar to earlier installments of Capcom's hit survival horror game, new enemies called the Molded will attack a gamer's character as they roam around an eerie bayou location.

Made from a tar-like substance, the Molded are more dangerous and moves quickly than the game's classic zombie opponents. "Resident Evil 7" players will need to come up with a good strategy to defeat the Molded without losing a lot of their character's health points.

Meanwhile, the gaming company is aiming to sell a significant number of "Resident Evil 7" during its launch day, according to Capcom's Antoine Molant. In an interview with MCV, Capcom's marketing director for the Europe, Middle East and African region shared that they are targeting to reach a global sales number of four million copies.

Molant is also confident that Capcom's upcoming game will hit the said target given strong pre-order numbers. He added, "All the signs that we have seen across the market, whether it's from the UK or from other territories, are very positive so far."

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be released on Jan. 24, 2017 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Watch the game's trailer below:
