Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) just opened the voting for its 2016 KDrama Awards. Fans of KBS performers could vote for their favorite shows, actors and singers in five categories. These are Best KDrama, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Couple, Best Kpop.

Preliminary results show that in four categories, “Descendants of the Sun” and its main actors are in a strong third place out of 15 nominees for each category, according to Kdramastars.com.

For Best Drama, in number 1 place is “W Two Worlds” with 39.18 percent. In second place is “Doctors” with 24.46 percent and third place is “Descendants of the Sun,” with 19.99 percent. Rounding up the top 5 nominees are “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” with 6.17 percent and “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” with 3.43 percent. The other nominees are “Uncontrollably Fond,” “The K2,” “Cheese in the Trap,” “Oh Hae Young Again,” “Oh My Venus,” “Signal,” “Jackpot,” “Beautiful Gong Shim,” “Six Flying Dragons” and “Marriage Contract.”

In the Best Actress category, leading is Han Hyo-joo (38.39 percent), followed by Park Shin-hye (26.8 percent), Song Hye-kyo (22.97 percent), Suzy (3.53 percent) and Kim Yu-jung (3.04 percent). The other nominees are Lee Ji-eun,, Im Yoon-ah, Seo Hyun-jin, Kim Go-eun, Kim Hyeo-soo, Shin Min-a, Bang Min-ah, Shin Se-kyung, Lim Ji-yeon and Uee.

Lee Jong-suk leads the Best Actor category with 40.15 percent, followed by Kim Rae-won (17.46 percent), Song Joong-ki (16.84 percent), Park Hae-jin (10.09 percent) and Lee Joon-gi (7.47 percent). Park Bo-gum, Ji Chang-wook, Kim Woo-bin, Mun Eric, So Ji-sub, Jang Keun-suk, Lee Je-hoon, Namgoon Min, Yoo Ah-in and Lee Seo-jin comprise the other nominees.

“W Two World’s” Lee Jong-suk and Han Hyo-joo topped the Best Couple Award with 39.54 percent, followed by Kim Rae-won and Park Shin-hye (25.2 percent), Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo (19.71 percent), Lee Joon-gi and Lee Ji-eun (4.2 percent) and Park Bo-gum and Kim Yu-jung (3.94 percent). The other nominees are Ji Chang-wook and Im Yoon-ah, Kim Woo-bin & Suzy, So Ji-sub and Shin Mina, Mun Eric and Seo hyun-jin, Park Hae-jin belbeand Kim Go-eun, Lee Je-hoon and Kim Hy-soo, Namgoon Min and Bang Min-ah, Jang Keun-suk and Lim Ji-yeon, Yoo Ah-in and Shin Se-kyung, and Lee Seo-jin and Uee.

For the KPop Awards, there are four sub-categories: Best K-pop Song of the Year 2016, where there are three nominees – “You’re So Fine” by CNBlue, “Blood Sweat & Tears” by BTS and “Monster” by EXO. For Best K-pop Group of the Year 2016, the nominees are CNBlue, EXO and BTS. For Best K-pop Artist of the Year 2016, the nominees are Hwang Chi-yeul of Solo, Jackson of GOT7 and Jung Yonghwa of CNBlue. For Best K-pop Rookie of the Year 2016, the nominees are SF9, BlackPink and Astro.
