"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" actor Park Bo-Gum had a little moment on stage. The 23-year-old Hallyu star broke down in tears during his recent fan tour meeting event in Malaysia.
On Dec. 10, Saturday, Park beamed at some 3,000 local and international fans, as he kicked off his Asia tour with a meet-and-greet event at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre's Plenary Hall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Yonhap News Agency reported. Much to the immense cheers and excitement of many, the Hallyu star greeted everyone in Malaysian dialect.
Drawing cheers from his fans, Park showcased different sides of himself that have not been known to many. He also performed the famous "bombastic" dance move and sang his own rendition of d.ear's ballad song "December 24." He then shared some stories behind the hit drama series "Reply 1988" and "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds."
Further, Park began to tear up when he performed his first soundtrack for "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" OST entitled "My Person" in front of the 3,000 audiences. Fans then have taken to social media to post several videos and pictures of him teary-eyed.
Aside from the Malaysia fan meeting, Park will also hold similar meet-and-greet events in other Asian countries. His next fan meeting event is scheduled in Hong Kong on Dec. 17, Saturday. It will then be followed in Jakarta, Indonesia; Taipei, Taiwan; Tokyo, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand; Singapore and Seoul, South Korea.
Park, who started his acting career in 2011's thriller film "Blind," became a household name after playing Crown Prince Lee Yeong in KBS 2TV's "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." Due to the impressive popularity of the said historical drama, Park is cherished by many individuals across different age groups at home and abroad.
"Park Bo Gum became the talk of the town following his drama 'Reply 1988' and his recent drama 'Moonlight Drawn by Clouds'," local newsoutlet Xports News quoted the source as saying, as cited by Soompi. "Thus, a new term called 'Park Bo Gum Effect' was created."
