Will the romance turn sour for Elizabeth and Ross in "Poldark" Season 3? Rumors suggest that Elizabeth will file rape charges against Ross for the love making they did in the second season.

Viewers of "Poldark" Season 2 would recall that Elizabeth and Ross had a passionate sexual encounter. Although in the books from which the show is based, it appeared that Ross forced himself on Elizabeth and the show took a subtle take on the incident. Lead star Aidan Turner described the act as "consensual, and it just seems right."

Morally speaking, Elizabeth and Ross' rendezvous is wrong in different respects regardless of the fact that they did it out of love and passion for one another. When Ross' wife, Demelza, found out about the incident, she did not punish him for it but it is evident that she now harbors ill feelings towards Elizabeth.

In "Poldark" Season 3, viewers will see a very pregnant Elizabeth, although the father has not been revealed yet. It is possible that the child is a product of Elizabeth and Ross' affair. It is also possible that the baby is the legitimate child of Elizabeth and George.

If the baby does turn out to be Ross', this could spell big trouble for the protagonist. If George finds out about Elizabeth and Ross' affair, he may press charges against Ross. Both Ross and George never quite see eye to eye, so indicting Ross for rape would be a huge victory for George.

Moreover, Elizabeth and Ross' affair is definitely not just a one-time thing and will continue in "Poldark" Season 3. "Yes, absolutely. That triangle only grows, there are people that join us," Express UK quoted actress Heida Reed as saying. "That triangle continues. Let's just say there are some actions and consequences." One of the consequences being predicted is the rape charges against Ross.

"Poldark" Season 3 is currently filming in Cornwall. Screenwriter Debbie Horsfield told Radio Times that the upcoming season is "a fantastic array of new characters and a story which scales new heights of conflict, feuding, passion and drama."

"Poldark" Season 3 will premiere in BBC in 2017.
