Samsung has been using dual-edge curved screens Galaxy S series smartphones on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 models. The publication has also reported that the Galaxy S8 would be arriving in two screen models of 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch.

Both the models are expected to feature dual-edged curved screen panels. It hints that the Galaxy S8 won't have variant featuring a flat screen. Moreover, the Galaxy S8 variants are also rumored to feature bezel-less screen like Xiaomi Mi Mix.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Bezel-less Design, 90% Screen-to-Body Ratio

As Xiaomi Mi Mix boasts a 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio, the Galaxy S8 rumors indicate that it will be arriving with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The news about Samsung ditching flat screen version for Galaxy S8 has worried analysts considering the fact that the customers won't be happy with the radical design.

Analysts believe that bezel-less design is more suitable for devices with larger screens such as TVs than portable device such as smartphones. Customers won't be very interested in the dual-edge displays as some of the users still do not find them user-friendly because they mistakenly end up touch side panels of the smartphones.

The probable reason why Samsung won't to release only the dual-edge screen edition for Galaxy S8 is that it wants to distinguish itself from other smartphone brands.
