2016 has been a big year for South Korean drama series and their fans. This year, fans were gifted with record-breaking and award-winning drama series such as "Descendants of the Sun," "Scarlet Heart: Goryeo" and "Doctors" as well as currently on-air shows "Goblin" and "The Legend of the Blue Sea." Kim Soo Hyun was the man of the year in 2014 and 2015, having landed the leading role in the hit drama series "My Love From the Star." He played the role of a charming alien who later falls in love with Jun Ji Hyun's character. Although he is confirmed to appear in the movie "Real" this 2017, no news about his upcoming drama series has been announced.

Recently, Kim Soo Hyun participated in a bowling match hosted by the Korean Professional Bowling Association, Soompi reported.

Ha Ji Won

Ha Ji Won made waves in South Korea and abroad when she starred in the epic drama "Empress Ki" in 2013 and 2014. She may not be visible in the small screen for now, but she is busy filming director John Woo's upcoming movie "Manhunt," Hancinema wrote. She will star alongside Leon Lai and Li Bing Bing.

Yoo Ah In is one of South Korea's most prolific and decorated young actors. This year, he was nominated in two categories at the 52nd Baeksang Arts Awards: Best actor (film) and Best actor (TV). He won the TV category against Song Joong Ki.

Dubbed as the "Nation's Goddess," Kim Tae Hee is one of South Korea's obsessed-over actresses. Her absence from the list of drama series this year is felt, but fans hope to see her again on screen in 2017.
