Netflix has announced the official release date of "Sense8" Season 2 as well as the two-hour "Sense8" Christmas Special. It looks like it is going to be a very merry Christmas for fans of the show.
The Christmas Special is not exactly a festive, more colorful event. Instead it will still continue the journey of the eight sensates as they find deeper connections, learn darker and more desperate secret about each other. According to Variety, the synopsis for "Sense8" Season 2 also continues a similar setup as the group struggles to survive and understand each other "against all odds."
In recently released stills from "Sense8" Season 2, the whole team will work together to save Sun (Doona Bae). The photo shows her being held under interrogation. All sensates are right behind her, except Riley. All the characters look worried as Sun looks the interviewer straight in the eye.
Meanwhile, the photo released for the "Sense8" Christmas Special appears to be lighter with Kala and Wolfgang at the center. There has been a lot of speculation about how Kala and Wolfgang's relationship will move forward in "Sense8" Season 2. What's for sure is that the love triangle involving Wolfgang, Kala and Rajan will continue.
"There's also the love story that continues with both boys," actress Tina Desai confirmed with Buzzfeed.
All of the sensates will see their bond with one another grow stronger, but Kala and Wolfgang's will be very special. Unlike the other sensates who maintain a platonic relationship, Kala and Wolfgang fell in love with one another.
However, it appears that Rajan will come as a threat to Kala and Wolfgang's relationship. In another photo released for "Sense8" Season 2, Kala is happily smiling in the arms of her fiancée. In recall, Kala was not very enthusiastic about marriage in the first season, but there are rumors that her mind will change in the new season and that she would continue to marry Rajan.
Wolfgang might also get another rival in the form of Rajan's brother. Sikander Kher is rumored to played Rajan's younger sibling and is said to be obsessed with Kala.
"Sense8" Season 2 will premiere on May 5. The "Sense8" Christmas Special will be available on Netflix on Dec. 23.
