The pricey Apple AirPods cost $69 if lost.

The iPhone has evolved as one of the top smartphones in the market, being released in different models year after year. Now, owners of the latest iPhone 7 would have to take good care of their prized wireless AirPods since losing it would cost another $69 to replace.

Regardless if the owner has a warranty or not, losing the AirPods or its charging case would both cost $69, according to the company's website.

While replacement costs $69, buying a whole new set will cost the buyer $149 after Apple announced it will sell the AirPods separately in its stores and online on Dec. 21, Fortune reported.

The pricey AirPods, which possesses the company's new W1 chip that recognizes if the AirPods are in the user's ears and was promised to be better than the traditional Bluetooth, look like the usual white Apple earbuds, only they are wireless. The AirPods debuted last September alongside the iPhone7 which does not have the headphone jacks.

Although the AirPods will be sold for only under $200, the prized earphones are prized at $300 to $500 at eBay plus the designated shipping fee. But unlike the demand for the AirPods, Apple has seen a decline in sales with the iPhone 7.

The AirPods are promised to connect seamlessly with different Apple products with the Macs and the Apple Watch and has a microphone to use for calls. Apple said that the AirPods can last up to five hours of usage in a single charge.

The Cupertino-based tech giant said that the AirPods would be released in October but a delay happened because of reported technical issues. Now, the sought after earphones would be available just in time for the holiday season, perfect to give as gifts or use in out of town Christmas trips.
