It is likely that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Note 5 will be updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat next year.

Android phone makers such as Samsung and HTC have tried to reassure consumers that Android operating system updates will be rolled out sooner than in earlier years.

Back in July, the tech company HTC said that it will roll out an Android 7.0 Nougat software update for the HTC 10, One M9 and One A9.

Recently, the company delivered Android 7.0 Nougat for the unlocked One M9. According to many reports, Huawei has confirmed that they will roll out the Android 7.0 N update for the Huawei P9 and Huawei Mate 8 in early next year.

Back in October, Samsung was planning to roll out an Android 7.0 N software update for its devices such as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, S6, S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, S7 Edge and Galaxy S7.

Samsung has allowed Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 to sign up for the Galaxy Beta Program to test the Android Nougat update before it rolls out to the public, SamMobile reported.

However, according to new reports, the tech company will skip over Android 7.0 N and roll out Android 7.1.1 N update to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

It is expected that the update will be rolled out before the end of 2016. However, it looks as if users of the two devices will get the update next year.

Furthermore, according to reports, Samsung will issue the same update for the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 instead of rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update.

The Android 7.0 Nougat, which is an Android OS, has been pre-loaded on Pixel XL and Pixel devices.

At present, the Android 7.0 N is available to download on the Nexus Player, Google Pixel C, Nexus 9, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6 and Nexus 5X, Pocket Lint reported.
