Numerous Galaxy Note 7 exploding battery issues occurred various places across the world. Samsung had to recall all Galaxy Note 7 to avoid casualties. Since Galaxy S8 release date is now speculated to be pushed to April 2017, it is speculated that the company users do not come across such horrendous issues with Galaxy S8.

Samsung may want to restore customers' faith on the brand because of which the company may be taking a careful approach by delaying Galaxy S8 release. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge were both announced in March this year. Since the company is speculated to announce Galaxy S8 in April, it may so happen that it will be available for purchase by May next year.
