The back-half of "Supernatural" Season 12 will continue Dean and Sam's various adventures as they deal with the British Men of Letters, the threat of Lucifer's baby and other supernatural villains. However, avid fans of the CW show can also expect to see several episodes that will show a glimpse at Castiel's backstory, his struggles and capabilities.

Showrunner Andrew Dabb shared in an interview with TVLine that they prepared three Castiel-focused episodes that will be released in the latter part of Season 12. One of the said episodes, to be aired on Feb. 2, 2017, will feature "a lost chapter" to the said character's history.

"Supernatural" Season 12 episode 11 will also include an interesting plot that will have Dean behaving like a child. In a separate interview with the same news site, Dabb revealed that Sam's brother will find himself trapped in a "Memento-type loop" that will impact his memory.

With the said loop slowly removing some of Dean's memories and worries, the said character will start to adopt a more child-like and happy-go-lucky attitude. However, Sam and his friends will need to find a way to rescue Dean from the spell before he forgets his brother.

In other news, the upcoming "Supernatural" Season 12 midseason premiere will tackle the aftermath of Dean and Sam's assassination attempt on the U.S. president, who was possessed by Lucifer. Titled "First Blood," the upcoming midseason premiere will feature the Winchester brothers' imprisoned life after the Feds captured them for attacking the president, as shown in episode 8.

Dean and Sam will be brought to the mysterious facility where the two siblings are imprisoned in separate stone-walled cells. A preview clip posted on Spoiler Guide teased of the said facility's location that appears to be in a middle of a forest. A voice over in the said clip described the prison as a "place that officially doesn't exist."

"Supernatural" Season 12 will return to the small screens on Jan. 26, 2017 on the CW. Watch the midseason premiere's teaser clip below:
