"Rogue One" star Diego Luna recently admitted that more people recognize him for his role in Katy Perry's old music video than in any role he had played in his previous films.

The 36-year-old Luna starred in Perry's "The One That Got Away" video in 2010, where he played the pop singer's tragic love interest, long before he was cast in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

Belfast Telegraph reported that Luna found it insane that more people had seen his video with Perry than all his other films combined.

"This is before 'Star Wars' but more people have seen that video than the people that have seen all my other films together. It's just insane," the actor said when asked about entering the world of Perry.

"I didn't know what I was stepping into. This whole world of pop-- it's so intense and it got everywhere," he added.

Luna shared that despite having starred in some of the biggest and most critically-acclaimed films before like "Frida," "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and "Milk," he could manage to walk comfortably around without being concerned about being recognized--until his video with Katy Perry came along.

Suddenly, he said, he became "The guy from the video." The actor also shared how unbelievable it was for him to get so much attention. "In places where I used to just walk around without getting any attention, suddenly people were like, 'Oh my God, the guy from the video!" he said.

Luna said he filmed the video for only a couple of days so he did not expect it to become such a phenomenon. However, he admitted that he had a really good time in the process.

"There was a lot of partying going on so it was a little like a 20-hour party," he told Komo News.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was released on December 16. Starring Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker, the "Star Wars" prequel has been received positively, having the biggest opening weekend of 2016 in the U.K.

The film is set before the original 1977 "Star Wars" movie and centers on the Rebel Alliance's mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.
