Video games have now become a large part of pop culture and there are a lot of notable contenders for these spots since a lot of video game developers now invest large sums of money into their products' soundtrack in order for players to get the same feelings while playing the game as its creators have envisioned.
"Revelations" by Neal Acree
Coming in at the number 10 spot is Neal Acree's compositions on the free to play multiplayer game "Revelations." Acree has previously been hailed for his work as a composer of the soundtrack of the "World of Warcraft" games since 2006.
"I Am Setsuna" by Tomoki Miyoshi
At number 9 is the soundtrack of "I Am Setsuna" by Tomoki Miyoshi. In this, he works with pianist Randy Kerber who has worked on the scores of over 800 films.
"Eagle Flight," "Gears of War 4," and "Final Fantasy XV" at Numbers 8, 7, and 6
Eagle Flight by Inon Zur comes in at number 8, edged out by "Game of Thrones" composer Ramin Djawadi's work on the "Gears of War 4" soundtrack that comes in at number 7 Yoko Shimamura's work on the "Final Fantasy XV" soundtrack definitely played a part in the game shipping 5 million copies with 24 hours of release. That score comes in at number 6.
"Civilization VI" by Geoff Knorr and Christopher Tin
Geoff Knorr and Christopher Tin's work on the "Civilization VI" soundtrack reaches number 5 on the list. The music for this game encapsulates what it tries to convey with its intensity and grit. This soundtrack also recieved praise from various other reviewers and gamers, Kotaku reported.
"Dear Esther" by Jessica Curry
Jessica Curry's work on "Dear Esther" just misses out on a top 3 spot, coming in at number 4.
"Unravel" and "The Last Guardian" at Numbers 3 and 2
Frida Johansson and Henrik Oja's work on the soundtrack of "Unravel" makes in to the top 3. One listener has described the soundtrack as perfectly encapsulating of the game's atmosphere, according to Classic FM. "The Last Guardian" soundtrack misses out on the top spot with its amazing work by Takeshi Furukawa who says he was inspired by "Jurassic Park" and "Final Fantasy."
"Abzu" by Austin Wintory
Taking the top spot is Austin Wintory's work on "Abzu." The soundtrack to the game has been described as one "you can lose yourself in," as it perfectly matches the game.
