Cable TV channel Arts and Entertainment (A&E) has recently canned the highly vexed Ku Klux Klan documentary titled "Escaping the KKK" but it is not the uproar of the people that caused its cancellation. Reports say that members of the racist organization received an undisclosed sum of money from the show's producers.

The supposed January 2017 air date of the said documentary has been called off due to the network's discovery from third party showrunners of the show that some of the members of the racist collective were somewhat compensated that would serve as a means of entry inside the group's sanctum. Albeit the producer's claim that only small amounts were given, A&E stood by their rules and decided to ax the show, New York Daily News noted.

A&E released a statement on their official website and discussed such discovery. The press release also stated that they were made to believe in the first place and even assured the Anti-Defamation League and Color of Change that no monetary amounts were given to the members of the Klan.

The network takes on racism and other related acts sternly and will continue to work with civic organizations in hopes to stop such violence. Prior to the said ruling, Ellen Pompeo who plays Dr. Meredith Grey on "Grey's Anatomy" took to social media to express her disapproval with the now canceled docuseries.

Originally, the eight-episode series was titled "Generation KKK." However, the title was changed to "Escaping the KKK: A Documentary Series Exposing Hate in America" and civil rights groups were enlisted to collaborate on in-show educational content in an attempt to deal with the criticisms.
