"Teen Wolf" Season 6 is set to provide avid fans a chance to see a few beloved characters return to the MTV series. Apart from Peter Hale (Ian Bohen), viewers can expect to see a reunion between Scott (Tyler Posey) and his father Agent McCall (Matthew Del Negro).

The impending appearance of Scott's father in "Teen Wolf" Season 6 was announced by Del Negro in a social media post. The actor recently took to Instagram to share a photo of what appears to be a door of his on-set trailer with the sign that read "Agent McCall."

Del Negro even used the hashtags "#daddysback" and "#teenwolf" to tease Papa McCall's return to the MTV series. However, the actor did not indicate whether his character's impending reunion with Scott and ex-wife Melissa (Melissa Ponzio) will be a happy encounter.

Viewers last saw the said agent in "Teen Wolf" Season 4 episode 8 titled "Time of Death." Aired in mid-August 2014, Scott's father left Beacon Hills to report to a San Francisco-based FBI field office.

At this time, it is unclear if Agent McCall's impending appearance will be linked to a new case or if he is set to reunite with his family. The MTV series' showrunners have yet to comment on Del Negro's return.

Meanwhile, McCall is just one of the characters who will return to the series to cap off the final season of "Teen Wolf." Executive producer Jeff Davis shared during the MTV show's Comic-Con panel that Scott's mentor and former Alpha Derek (Tyler Hoechlin) will also appear in Season 6, Deadline quoted the showrunner as saying.

In an earlier interview with TVLine, Davis recounted how the show's writing team have had several discussions to finalize the list of characters who will return to the series. Moreover, Kira's (Arden Cho) storyline will also be tackled in the latter part of Season 6 with a possibility that the character will also reappear in the series, according to the showrunner.

"Teen Wolf" Season 6 will return from its winter break on Jan. 3, 2017 on MTV. Watch a teaser clip for the upcoming episode below:
