Kara, also known as Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), fought several villainous characters since the superheroine decided to use her powers to protect mankind and her friends. From humans, meta-humans and aliens, the girl of steel proved that she has the strength and determination to win against her enemies.

However, Superman's cousin will soon encounter some of the villains that she met in the past. Bad guys such as Metallo and Livewire will be appearing in the CW series' upcoming episodes.

In an interview with TVLine, Adler commented that they are looking to bring back some of the fan-favorite villains in "Supergirl." Apart from Metallo and Livewire, several other evil characters are set to reappear in the show.

However, the showrunner declined to disclose the identity of the said villains. Adler explained that it is still too early to unveil the full list of bad guys that Supergirl would have to face again in upcoming episodes.

Meanwhile, the midseason premiere of "Supergirl" Season 2 will include the return of the alien fight ring organizer Roulette (Dichen Lachman). A teaser clip posted on Spoilers Guide featured a quick look at the said villainess, along with a new threat that involves more aliens and a mysterious portal to another world.

Titled "Supergirl Lives," the upcoming episode 9 will also show a more vulnerable Supergirl who appears to be bleeding after an attack. Viewers might also see Winn (Jeremy Jordan) joining Alex (Chyler Leigh) and the Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) on the field to fight off a new threat.

"Supergirl" Season 2 will return to the small screens on Jan. 23, 2017 on the CW. Watch a teaser clip for the upcoming episode below:
