After the triumph of "The Amazing Spiderman 2," the superhero film grossed an estimated total of $708 million worldwide, combining both the estimated domestic gross of $202 million and $506 million from other countries.
Marvel and Sony are currently brainstorming their thoughts for the film's next installment, "The Amazing Spiderman 3", which will be released in 2018.
"The Amazing Spiderman" is an American superhero film, which follows Marvel Comic character Spiderman. The second installment of the film featured a visually notable epic battle of Spiderman with Electro and Green Goblin, concluding to the tragic death of his love, Gwen Stacy. "The Amazing Spiderman 3" is going to be the sequel and the third installment for the action adventure film franchise.
"The Amazing Spiderman 3" will reprise Andrew Garfield's role as the main hero Spiderman behind Peter Parker. Dane DeHaan will also go on with his role as Harry Osborn, also known as the Green Goblin. Norman Osborn will be playing the role of Chris Cooper while Shailene Woodley from the Divergent series will be Mary Jane Watson, as per Screen Rant.
According to The Source, Sony and Marvel have decided to reboot the "Amazing Spiderman" franchise since Sony is giving back the superhero to Marvel. With the reboot, teen wolf star Dylan O'Brien was speculated to star as Spiderman. However, the teen actor confirmed that he has not been professionally contacted by the studio.
Since Spiderman returns to Marvel, it will be more likely that Spidey appears in other upcoming Marvel films such as Captain America and Avengers, as per Variety.
The superhero film reboot is set to be produced by Marvel's Kevin Feige with Amy Pascual as co-producer. The film is set to hit theaters and cinemas on July 28, 2007.
