Brock Lesnar's mixed martial arts career has experienced some ups and downs over the years, but that does not take away from the fact that he was once the reigning UFC heavyweight champion as well as a WWE legend. Lesnar's physicality made him a dominant force in the Octagon, with some notable wins over big names such as Heath Herring, Randy Couture, and Frank Mir.

He won the heavyweight crown when he was able to defeat the Couture via knockout late in the second round of their five-round face off. He was able to defend his title against Mir, again by knockout, and against Shane Carwin, whom he forced to submit via an arm triangle choke. However, Lesnar's winning streak and title reign came to an end when he was dethroned by Cain Velasquez late in 2010.

Lesnar did not fight for another year until Dec. 2011 when he was once again defeated, this time by Alistair Overeem. It took him almost five years to make his next return, when he won against Mark Hunt via unanimous decision.

It would look like his MMA career was back on track, but the WWE superstar tested positive for banned substances after his fight, causing it to be overruled as a no contest. The violation came in an out-of-competition test sample, according to the Mirror.

Lesnar's own opponent, Hunt, even made claims about Lesnar doping saying he was "juiced to the gills" and other comments along those lines during press conferences. However, Lesnar denied these claims saying that he was simply white and had a "jacked" physique.

The second comeback of Lesnar to the UFC has not panned out. No one even expected him to take another shot at the sport, as he supposedly retired following his 2011 loss. Even UFC president Dana White has shared his two cents on the incident, saying that he no longer expects Lesnar to make another return to MMA.

"I don't know how much longer he's got with WWE. I think his career is winding down," White said in an interview with the MMA Junkie. "But he's a freak of nature, so who knows? Maybe he'll give me a call and say he wants to do it again, but I think he's ready to ride off into the sunset," the UFC president added.

White doubts that one of MMA's biggest talents will want out at this stage of his career. It seems that the confusion over how Lesnar will move forward in the sport is merely caused by a lack of communication.
