While some of today's pop stars present themselves as snobbish and act indifferently toward their fans at times, there are still those who possess a heart of gold. One such example is Taylor Swift, who recently surprised her 96-year-old fan, Cyrus Porter, by performing for him and his family at their home in Missouri.

Despite her busy schedule, Swift visited Porter's home in the middle of a thunderstorm. The singer-songwriter performed one of her biggest hits in recent memory, "Shake it Off," much to the delight of her "oldest fan." In fact, the unlikelihood of the entire situation has even led one of Porter's grandchildren to call Swift's visit a "Christmas miracle" on his posts on Twitter.

Other members of the family also could not believe that the pop star made a surprise visit to their quaint celebration. In fact, the entire family erupted into screams when the pop star walked out into their back porch.

Porter fought in Germany during the war and afterwards dedicated his time to his family as well as his farm in New Madrid, Missouri. The veteran caught attention after he revealed that he was Taylor Swift's oldest fan and that he took his grandchildren to see her perform live in early 2016, Ozarks First reported. In fact, Porter has gone to not only one, but two of Swift's concerts.

Swift was also given a tour of Porter's personal World War II memorabilia after her performance. It can be seen in the photos how excited and happy Porter is that he has finally gotten to meet his favorite singer. He also thanks the singer due to the fact that her music has brought him and his grandchildren closer together.

"Look what she does, she puts on a show no-one else puts on," Porter told KVFS 12 when asked why he was such a fan of Swift. "I just liked the way she did stuff," the war veteran added. Porter has even described Swift's visit to his home as a "Christmas treat," as he commended the pop star for treating her fans warmly and allowing them to take many photos with her.
