Fans have dug deep to find fond memories of Schumacher. One of them was the Formula One triumph in Belgium in 1992. Schumacher went up against fellow racing greats such as Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell, a battle that boiled down to the choice of tires to be used, according to Sky Sports.

Senna opted to go with wet tires while Schumacher made the uncanny move to use dry tires instead. And as most perhaps know, the gamble eventually paid off with Schumacher headed to victory road.

There were a lot of firsts for Schumacher at the time. He gave his first press conference as an F1 Grand Prix winner, his maiden win for the Benetton team.

That stirring triumph eventually sparked a series of triumphs for Schumacher who went on win 90 more races and rack up seven driving titles in the process. In all, that first win in Belgium was where the legacy of Schumacher kicked off. By now, most the countless achievements Schumi had before that fateful accident in 2013.

Lewis Hamilton is currently second to Schumacher in the F1’s all-time winner’s list. When asked whether he has any intentions to break Schumi’s records, he admits that such a feat is daunting if not impossible to match.

Schumacher’s son Mick Schumacher is currently plotting the seeds to follow the legacy of his father. He recently signed with Prema Powerteam and is set to compete in the Formula Three European Championships next season, ESPN reported.
